Steve Porter spent most of November 2006 aboard the 67 foot Challenger yacht as a crew member for one leg of its 11 month journey. Click on the yacht to view it's current progress.
-Extract from Challenger's web site blog - "Steve Porter is hooked on the fishing side of life. Amongst his catch he has managed to pull in some fine looking tuna and even one fish which the crew have never seen before!!! In all, this has provided the crew with some well received fresh food, helping to retain crew morale as they sail away into the warm sunshine."

September 2006 saw anglers entering The PENN sponsored "Biggest Bass of the Month" Competition in aid of charity. This was to raise money for our good friend and popular Langstone Harbour Skipper, Spike Spears who has sadly been diagnosed with bone cancer. Unfortunately we lost several trips due to bad weather, but the nine completed bass trips resulted in £460 being raised. Best bass was 11lb 2oz and was caught by Claud Mauratsing
